Life Education Trust
The National Bank is a major, national sponsor of Life Education Trust.
Life Education Trust aims to help give the young people of New Zealand – through
positive health-based education – the knowledge and skills to raise their awareness
to live a fulfilling and healthy life.
Life Education Trust is a non-profit organisation. They teach health to over 200,000
primary and intermediate school children each year. The organisation visits schools
by invitation, not by right and are linked into the school curriculum.
Life Education is a preventative approach. Children are taught about the wonder
of life, themselves, and other people, with the aim of showing them how to reach
their full potential. It is a totally positive approach. Life Education does not
necessarily work on changing children's behaviour, it works on changing desires.
Life Education do this by taking children on an adventure in a mobile classroom
that is equipped with sophisticated sight and sound techniques to capture children's
imaginations. Educators (registered teachers) take children on this journey, along
with Harold the Giraffe, Life Education Trust’s mascot. These educators are chosen
for their x-factor and together with Harold make the journey fun as well as educational.
The sponsorship of Life Education Trust allows The National Bank to support the future
of New Zealand through the positive development of youth and provides opportunities
for our staff to be actively involved in their communities.
The National Bank is running a national campaign to promote this partnership with
Life Education Trust. This campaign features financial wellbeing information delivered
from the Trust's mobile classrooms to parents, children, teachers and principals.
