available exclusively to National Bank credit cardholders. They're provided
through Travelex and their partners, with over 110,000 locations throughout the
world.
Global Services is not available to Platinum Visa cardholders. Instead, Platinum
Visa comes with a complimentary Secure Sentinel
membership and access to the
Visa Concierge Service.

Before you travel, ask for our complimentary Global Services Luggage Tags and
Emergency Card at any National Bank
branch. They contain all the service numbers to call for Global Services
assistance when you're overseas.
Fraud protection
To help keep your credit card secure from theft or fraud, it is important you
take responsibility for keeping your card and PIN secure. If you don't, you may
be liable for some or all of the transactions you did not authorise. Please
familiarise yourself with the full details of the relevant card's Conditions of
Use.
Your credit card has several built-in features to help reduce the risk of
someone else using your card:

PIN (Personal Identification Number) that only you can select.
A PIN allows only you to make purchases and withdraw cash at ATMs in New Zealand
and overseas, without the need for a signature.

A leading edge transaction monitoring system that detects
possible fraudulent activity on your card. When your card transaction patterns
change significantly you are contacted by the Bank to check whether your card
has been stolen or used by someone else.

Worldwide toll-free numbers to call if your card is lost or
stolen
Additional cards
Your partner, relatives or friends can have cards linked to your credit card
account. There will be no extra cost for Freestyle cards, however a
fee applies for Platinum Visa Card, Thoroughbred and Gold Thoroughbred Cards, Visa Classic, Visa
Gold and Low Interest Visa.

CardCover - repayment protection
This low cost insurance covers your credit card repayments when you can't - due
to illness, accident, redundancy, critical illness, bankruptcy, permanent
disability or death. Your premiums are based on the amount owing at your monthly
statement date, so you only pay when your credit card has a debit balance. You
can apply for CardCover when you apply for a National Bank credit card.
Chip card security
Because we take your security seriously, the National Bank has added an electronic chip to your card.
We are progressively adding electronic chips to our range of cards to provide you with enhanced protection against fraud.
The National Bank is always working on card security and these changes are consistent with new global standards which will
also make it easier to use your card overseas.
